Skipped School For 11th Oldest Course In World
Finlay Galloway is a legend. The dude skipped school to host Erik Anders Lang, Colt, and Hafer at his home club: Leven Links. Not only is Leven the 11th oldest club in the world, but the original course was designed by (you guessed it) Old Tom Morris. Leven is also home to the 2nd toughest finishing hole in the UK and out of bounds markers that could stop a WW2 German tank. A true links course on the ocean that goes out and back, Leven has a bowling club, two clubhouses, and some old school Stonehenge-like monoliths across the street.
Magical Round at Kingsbarns
It was a magical day at Kingsbarns for many reasons: friends, rainbows, good golf holes… but most importantly, the arrival of former-local native, Stuart Kerr. As they (he) always says, “You can take the boy outta Glasgow, but you can’t take Glasgow outta the boy.” Kingsbarns is in Fife and is called Kingsbarns because it literally housed the King’s barns. Today, it is home to a Kyle Phillips’ designed golf course (2000) that hosts the European Tour’s Dunhill Links Championship along with The Old Course and Carnoustie. Remember Michael Phelp’s 100+ ft. long putt he drained? That was here. And if you watch closely, somebody you may know gives it a go!
We Surprised Stuart *Twice* at The Old Course St. Andrews
The Old Course, St. Andrews Links, The Home of Golf. Erik Anders Lang and the crew visit St Andrews to pay homage to the game we all love. What the crew doesn’t know (well…just Stuart) is that the boys have a tee time on The Old Course thanks to American transplant Rob Ogle. You see, Stuart grew up in Scotland (Glasgow to be exact) and his family would vacation to the town of St. Andrews every year. Stuart’s dad was an avid golfer at the time, but Stuart had just started to dabble in the game. Stuart and his family later moved to Australia and neither of them ever got the chance to play The Old Course. So this was our chance.
