Generous fairways, framed by an attractive mix of oaks, beech, mature cherry trees, ash, pine, larch & spruce, encourage golfers to go for their shots but streams, ponds and undulating greens lie in wait. Of the two courses, The Montgomery is generally regarded as providing the stiffer challenge, not least due to it being 277 yards longer than The Bruce.
In acknowledging it as a genuine test of golf, we have laid down the gauntlet with The Montgomery Challenge which offers a free round of golf and a mention in our Hall of Fame for any golfer that breaks 80 gross.
